Cleft Lip Surgery; £100

It must be hard to look 'different' - and when that difference is an obvious facial one, that affects your speech, it could be quite crippling.
There are problems with eating too - as you can imagine, from these pictures.

Cleft lip can be corrected though with relatively simple surgery - it has no bearing on a person's intelligence, I know a very clever doctor who had one. It's shocking and disgusting how often it appears to be assumed that anyone who doesn't quite fit into the 'normal' box is thought to be somehow less clever, less sensitive to stares, and somehow almost less real or less human than those who do.

This present will be the first plastic surgery anyone's ever given me!
