A poor farming family in a hot, arrid country - maybe somewhere where the soil has been wizened by years of cash-crop fuelled rape - wouldn't necessarily have to imagine it. The richness that the soil can draw from the waste of a pair of goats can make a huge difference - a the woman in the example here testifies. Three times her usual crop is great - but the extra bonus that milk from the female has given has directly helped her daughter's health too.

It might not be the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff, but the grass must be feeling slightly greener for them.
